2026 Home Décor Trends You Can DIY — From Rustic Projects to Personalized Spaces

Ever go to a craft show and see something you thought you would make yourself?  Did you?  Chances are you probably didn't or if you did it might not have turned out quite the same?

So rustic, farmhouse, Primitive have several colors that are used a lot. 

Lamp Black, Marigold Yellow , Barn Red, Midnight Blue, Burlap Tan, and a Burnt Ember Brown.  

This style uses dark waxes on wood, and fabric, paper images and tags. 

Then you will want to add rusty charm.  Rusty Bells, Stars and Wire. 

Homespun fabrics, which you can find a good variety at Local craft stores, Good selection can be found on Jubileefabric.com as well. 

Foliage common in Primitive décor is Sisal and Sweet Anne, but you may see things like dried branches.      

Because it is rustic you will want to grab a hand gator sanding block
